Article types

The South Australian Geographical Journal (SAGJ) accepts multiple types of submissions, including research articles, commentaries, and case studies.

Submission requirements

Manuscript Format

  • As the journal administers double-blind manuscript reviews, authors should remove identifying information from their Manuscript File.
  • Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format.
  • The Journal uses the APA referencing style guide
  • Maximum word count: 5500 for research articles, including references. 3000 words for commentaries, including references.
  • Times New Roman font, 11pt size, and 1.5 line spacing
  • Figures/tables/illustrations should be numbered and attached separately.

Additional required files
Authors must submit short biographies (50-100 words) and disclose any potential conflicts of interest in a separate file.

Editorial and Peer Review Process

SAGJ accepts submissions on an ongoing basis. All submissions are read carefully by the Journal’s Editors before they are sent out for external peer review. Please be advised that we do not provide evaluative reports on submissions that are not sent out for external review.
